How to read this map
Every state sits on the national raw base: campaign finance, jobs-by-county, nonprofit filings, EPA facilities, Census — covering all 50 states, as raw records. Raw is reach, not depth. It becomes knowledge only where it has been connected: cleaned, keyed, and welded to the other collections.
That work exists in pockets — Louisiana is gold, Texas and DC are deep, Pennsylvania and Mississippi are bronze — and it is expanding state by state. Click any state to open its scan.
The web, honestly
Each ball is a collection — size ≈ how much we hold, colour = how far it has been processed. Lines are connections: a shared key that lets two collections be joined — a facility registry ID, a tax ID, a legal entity ID, a county code.
Most collections have few lines or none. That is the silo problem in one picture: the vault is wide, the web is sparse. The bright knot on the left — courts connected to the people who run them — is what “done” looks like. Almost nothing else looks like that yet.
